Susan Oakey-Baker

[dropcap]S[/dropcap]usan Oakey-Baker is a teacher, guide, painter and a writer.

In connection with the release of  Finding Jim in fall 2013 Susan has presented her inspirational story to hundreds of people at events such as the Banff International Mountain Book Festival, the Vancouver International Mountain Film Festival and the Whistler Readers and Writers Festival, where she was interviewed by CBC’s Jian Ghomeshi and Stephen Quinn.

Susan has studied painting in France, Italy and has taught workshops in Whistler.  She has exhibited locally and has sold much of her work.

Susan also works as a nationally certified hiking guide.  She has guided groups in Africa, Nepal and North America and has guided more than 100 people, ranging in age from sixteen to eighty-five, to the top of Africa’s highest peak, Mount Kilimanjaro, for the Alzheimer Society of British Columbia.
